Don’t know if this works with Wordpress, but in Blogger, I can get both the breaks and intra-line spacing by going back and forth between html and ‘compose’

In the first, I can do a line break before the wrap without doubling, as it leaves no p /p command. However, can’t space between words in html, but can in Compose.

So I type the poem first in html for spacing between lines, than go to Compose to add spaces between words where desired.

Took a while to figure that out.. you can also leave the poem on Writer’s Cafe where it’s easier to format in one step–then link within your blog post.
